Branching out - Steel Gates in South London

Agnes Jones, a former transient user of RARA, has recently completed a project for a Primary School in South London. Here is a small piece written by her about the project:

"The school symbol is the tree which is based on a huge tree in the centre of the school. We wanted to use that and also have the name and a sign welcoming the children in. It wasn't particularly to keep people out, more to just act as a way of stopping children from getting out. It needed to open as fully as possible and it seemed like it would be a nice idea to have the tree folding down the middle as it opened. The original designs had the "Brooklands" curving over the top of the second section of the railing but in the end we settled on having it all straight lines which went a bit better with the school buildings. The colour scheme was chosen from the buildings too."

RARA now has the capability of delivering larger forging and metalwork projects.
